Research interests
I am a doctoral researcher at the school of Modern Languages at the University of Bristol, funded by the AHRC and the SWWDTP. My research looks at feminist street art in post-2018 Chile — specifically at how visual and political vocabularies get made, disputed, and circulated in public space. My current work focuses street/urban art in Santiago, and on the tensions between collective feminist practice and the broader conditions that frame how that work is received and read.
My research draws on cultural studies, visual cultures, and feminist theory, and sits broadly within Latin American studies and contemporary art politics. I am particularly interested in how street art takes part in the shaping of feminist subjectivities, and in how activist aesthetics move and change between Chile and South America.
I hold an MA in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA in Sociology from Universidad de Chile.
